2020 Chateau Haut-Brion, Blanc, Pessac-Leognan 3x75cl
DE96
"A blend of 71.4% Sauvignon Blanc and 28.6% Semillon, harvested 20th to 27th August and with an alcohol of 13.9%, the 2020 Haut-Brion Blanc slowly unfurls to reveal notes of fresh pears, spiced apple... slices, orange zest and lemongrass, plus touches of wet pebbles, dillseed and baking bread. The medium-bodied palate wears its lightly spicy apple and pear layers with grace and sophistication, supported by a racy backbone and subtly creamy texture, finishing long and mineral laced. It will need time, but there's no doubting it's a knock-out." Drink 2028-2045. 95-97+ pts., Lisa Perrotti-Brown, robertparker.com
£1,800 / Case£600 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: Immediate2021 Domaine Billaud Samuel, Chablis, Grands Terroirs 12x75cl
From Les Pargues, Bas de Chapolot and Les Carts, this Grands Terroirs is primal on the nose, imparting aromas yellow flowers, grapefruit zest and a light flintiness. On the palate taut, vibrant and... fresh with a fine bead of acidity. There is momentum on the palate, leading to a fresh, sea-spray-tinged finish. 2021's steely concentration will make this a sublime pairing with seafood. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

"Côte de Pre-Girots. Pale lemon colour, the bouquet is not quite so fine as Vaillons but has class nonetheless. Fresh crisp white fruit with just a few mirabelles showing alongside. A softer finish... but still with some clean kimmeridgian touches to finish. Indeed, the finish as well as being long has the classical style of Chablis." 92-94pts, Jasper Morris MW, www.insideburgundy.com

Take a look towards St Aubin from the top of the famed Grand Cru vineyards of Le Montrachet and Chevalier-Montrachet, and you encounter is Murgers des Dents de Chien, one of the four greatest... vineyards in the commune. "The 2017 Seven Flags Chardonnay was matured in French oak barrels for nine months using 31% new oak, the rest second- and third-fill. The nose is a little more closed than the Estate Chardonnay at... this early juncture, although there is a brooding intensity here. This is well defined, displaying hints of dried honey and white peach with aeration. The palate is fresh and crisp with hints of Golden Delicious and orange peel, the oak very well integrated and with an almost Meursault-like, nutty finish. Give this two or three years in bottle. Excellent. " 93 pts, Neal Martin, www.vinous.com

"Harvested at ripe 15% potential alcohol, the golden-yellow 2015 Pinot Gris Rangen de Thann Clos Saint Urbain shows the purity and flintiness of its terroir combined with an unreal freshness for the... 2015 vintage. "The 2018 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc has come together beautifully over the last two years. Rich and unctuous in feel, the 2018 offers terrific nuance to match its creamy, enveloping personality.... Dried pear, marzipan, lemon confit and white flowers all build as the 2018 blossoms in the glass. The poised, deeply resonant finish is striking. I am so impressed with the 2018, a wine that is far more convincing in bottle than it was from barrel. " 95 pts., Antonio Galloni, vinous.com
