2021 Famille Perrin, Gigondas, L’Argnee Vieilles Vignes 6x75cl

JR17
"A very deep nose, cassis, leather and ripe red fruits. Real density and concentration on the nose. A dense and pure palate with a softness of fruit, beautifully tuned tannins – delicate and layered, savoury and with poise and elegance – a pepper note on the layered finish. 2021 Philippe Bouzereau, Bourgogne, Cote d’Or Rouge 6x75cl

“A superb cuvée blended with a majority of fruit from the Durots vineyard in Volnay, this showcases lifted aromatics, crunchy red fruit and a mouthwatering spine of acidity. This would be great with a plate of charcuterie!” Mr.Wheeler tasting note

2021 Claudie Jobard, Pommard Premier Cru, Les Charmots 12x75cl

JR16.5+
A remarkable terroir, oriented south/south-east and planted with very old vines (dating back to 1919), producing a tender, rich, concentrated, age-worthy pinot noir.

2021 Fattoria Le Pupille, Maremma Toscana, Saffredi 6x75cl

RP97
"The Fattoria le Pupille 2021 Saffredi is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot that offers seamless integration of dark fruit flavors that bleed directly into spice, Tuscan cigar... and earthy iris root. This vintage is compact and firm, especially in terms of mouthfeel, and there are graceful floral tones to close. The winery team has been tweaking the oak regime, landing on 60% to 65% new oak complemented by once-used barrels. They've been working in this manner since 2019 to establish sweet and integrated tannins." 97 pts., Monica Larner, robertparker.com

2021 Le Difese, Tenuta San Guido, Toscana 6x75cl

2021 Domaine Lecheneaut, Bourgogne, Pinot Noir 6x75cl

The wines of the Hautes Côtes de Nuits have been particularly delightful in the past few vintages, and this example from Léchéneaut in 2021 is no exception. Deep and complex on the nose with... whiffs of dark cherry and a hint of anise leads to a palate packed with expressive berry fruit. There is, however, an underlying delicacy and zing of acidity that completes this truly lovely wine. Go search out some confit de canard and settle in for something quite delicious. Chapeau Vincent! 2021 Claudie Jobard, Bourgogne, Milliane 12x75cl

One of the absolute bargains of our portfolio over the past few years, this cuvée crafted from vines in Pommard has it all; juicy, crunchy fruit, a soft-edged texture and subtly grippy structure to see it through the next 5 years’ ageing. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2021 Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini, Bourgogne, Pinot Noir 6x75cl

JR16+
This superb value, Baby-Gevrey from a single parcel of vines just below the village (and just outside of the appellation's border) delivers quality plenty of Gevrey producers would be happy with for... their Village cuvée... 100% destemmed and therefore with a lovely fleshy opulence, at its core the ripe black fruit and juicy, moreish texture yet loads of fresh.

2021 Jean-Jacques Girard, Beaune Premier Cru, Clos du Roi Rouge 6x75cl

JM88-90
"Girard’s Clos de Roi has been consistently impressive since it was first made in 2007, and this vintage is no exception. Situated at the northern end of a strip of premier cru vineyards to the... west of Beaune it has produced a wine of ripe and forward dark cherry fruit that is entwined with a gentle and judicious use of oak and fresh acidity. The tannins are silky and refined boding well for a graceful future. " (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2021 Domaine Lecheneaut, Marsannay, En Sampagny 6x75cl

Situated at the southern end of the Marsannay commune, adjacent to its arguably better-know next door neighbour Fixin, this is a classic example of how the appellation can excel. A restrained and... delicate nose of ripe hedgerow fruits leads into a delightfully powerful central core of blueberry and a touch of cherry on the palate. The balance of great juicy acidity (so typical in this vintage) and robust fruit-coated tannins suggests a wine for the medium to longer haul, but one that is unquestionably worth the wait. 2021 Sassicaia, Tenuta San Guido, Bolgheri 3x150cl

RP100
"Here it is: A quintessential Sassicaia that represents the excellence of the vintage and also respects the unique taste profile of this distinguished Tuscan blend of Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc.... The Tenuta San Guido 2021 Bolgheri Sassicaia offers impeccable balance, excellent freshness and absolutely no signs of over-ripeness. The fruit balance is ideal with a hint of crunch and lasting tension from pulp and skins. The tannins are deftly managed with firm grip and enough velvetiness to add volume and length. There is no greenness on the bouquet that instead offers mulled herbs and spice, with cinnamon and clove, layered delicately between mostly red and some purple berry fruits. Redcurrant, blueberry, sweet pomegranate and Rainier cherry run strong in this vintage. A fragrant hint of heritage rose emerges with time. The oak tones are geared toward gingerbread, hazelnut, cigar, sandalwood and something like a grilled sweet red pepper. To the palate, it offers nice weight with no heavy glycerin, and a rinse of acidity that adds to the wine’s natural energy, brightness and viscosity. That marked freshness opens the wine up to long aging potential, but you still need to give it more time in bottle." 100 pts., Monica Larner, robertparker.com

2021 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Bourgogne, Pinot Noir 6x75cl

Half the crop was lost this year but Livera’s Bourgogne rouge lost none of its joyful quality in this vintage. Super pretty core of red juicy fruit, fleshy with a nice long finish, and some hints of that liquorice that points to fruit grown on the Gevrey terroir. Very hard to beat for the value it delivers. 2021 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Gevrey-Chambertin, Les Evocelles 6x75cl

This year Les Evocelles is particularly mineral, linear and precise, and while it continues in the very moreish juicy style of the Domaine there is excellent ripeness and power, and oodles of the Gevrey liquorice notes to accompany the ripe cherries. So delicious, and ambitious, too. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2021 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Fixin, Rouge 6x75cl

This has been one of the best “punches above its weight” cuvée of our portfolio for a few years now, and the 2021 continues the trend - stunning fruit, silkily-textured yet with a spicy edge, superb energy, really expressive and perfumed, with a glorious finish. A must-have. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2021 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Marsannay 6x75cl

2021 is a particularly good year for Marsannay, and this one stopped us in our tracks. Once again from this Domaine this is super juicy, yet now we are seeing power and ripe intensity, real depth and a long, fresh finish - this is absolutely gorgeous. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2021 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Cote de Nuits-Villages 6x75cl

Crafted from fruit grown mostly in Brochon, a commune that, apart from Côtes de Nuits Village, can also produce Gevrey, Fixin and Bourgogne rouge - everything bar its own appellation! What does this one tastes like? Glorious! Dark, rich, juicy, mouth-filling with a beautifully-judged, delicately grippy structure. Superb.

2021 Aurelien Verdet, Vosne-Romanee, Vieilles Vignes 6x75cl

2021 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Gevrey-Chambertin, Clos Village 6x75cl

JR16+
Darker, more savoury, explosive and spicy, much more muscular and structured than the previous cuvées - we are getting into 1er Cru territory here yet retaining the precision and purity of fruit cosseted in fleshy, juicy texture that is, in my opinion, the hallmark of the estate. 2021 Aurelien Verdet, Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru, Monts Luisants 6x75cl

"Lovely juicy core of fruit, dense and powerful with broad shoulders and an understated yet firm structure, this is a broad-shouldered Morey St Denis from the rare 1er Cru Aux Monts Luisants vineyard... in Morey-St-Denis which boasts a superb position just above and as an enclave within the lauded Clos de la Roche Grand Cru. Spicy yet with a delicious core of juicy rich fruit, a lverlvety texture and a long, multi-layered finish, this is a very pleasant and complex 1er Cru." (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)
