2016 Chateau Haut-Batailley 5eme Cru Classe, Pauillac 6x75cl

RP92
"“The 2016 Haut Batailley has a deep garnet-purple color and aromas of baked redcurrants, red plums and cassis with asphalt, fried herbs and earth. The palate is medium-bodied, firm and chewy with an earthy finish.” 92+ pts., Lisa Perrotti-Brown, robertparker.com

2016 Henschke, Mount Edelstone Shiraz, Eden Valley 6x75cl

RP96
"The 2016 Mount Edelstone Vineyard Shiraz is steeped in complexity, with aromas ranging from camphor, bay leaf and sage to smoke and grilled beef and from blueberries and blackberries to plums laced... with spice. Full-bodied, rich and intense, it's ripe and velvety textured, with a long, licorice-tinged finish and dusty tannins that bode well for the cellar. From vines planted in 1912, I suspect this will come close to the quality of the Hill of Grace at a fraction of the price. Tasted again the following day from the open bottle, this was even better, seamless, flowing and harmonious in the mouth." 96 pts., Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com

2016 Croft, Vintage Port 6x75cl

RP94
"The 2016 Vintage Port is a field blend with 104 grams of residual sugar. When last seen this was in good form. Let's check in. Darker in its flavor profile than the 2017, this is more rhubarb, plums... and blackberries. The tannins have moderated a bit, but obviously this is not exactly tamed. It is coming along fast enough so you can dive in now (or soon) with some decanting, but it certainly will show better at the end of the decade (or later)." 94 pts., Mark Squires, robertparker.com

2016 La Rioja Alta, Vina Arana Gran Reserva, Rioja 6x150cl

“The 2016 harvest is one of the highest quality I have seen, with a good level of volume. The vintage was characterised by perfect grapes and Viña Arana shows an immaculate balance between all... elements of the wine, showcasing the contemporary Gran Reserva style at La Rioja Alta, S.A. The nose stands out with its impressive aromatic intensity, and there is a great flavour concentration that will allow the wine to age for a very long time, and in a few years it will be superb.” Julio Saénz, head winemaker, La Rioja Alta

2016 Ben Glaetzer, Amon Ra, Barossa Valley 6x75cl

RP96
"Dramatic, intense and powerful, the 2016 Amon Ra Shiraz recalls the 2004 in its youth, crammed with layers of fruit, complex, savory elements and rich, velvety tannins. It's full-bodied,... characterized by notes of grilled meat, espresso, black olive, cassis, vanilla, baking spices and an undercurrent of loamy earth. Yes, it's unapologetically big and bold, the product of a warm, sunny climate and ripe grapes, but it does show a sense of decorum, restraint and elegance on the long finish." 96 pts., Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com

2016 Warre’s, Vintage Port 6x75cl

VM94
"The 2016 Warre.s Vintage Port was picked from 19 September, the harvest took 10 days longer than usual in order to gain optimal ripeness. II has a tightly-wound but compelling bouquet with intense... block fruit laced with clove, nutmeg and touches of smoke. This is a Warre.s with great precision and detail. The palate is sheer class: saturated ripe tannin that belie the structure underneath. There is a symmetry about this Vintage Port and a tension that keeps you returning for more. Wow. This is one of the finest Warre's that I have tasted at declaration. Bravo! Production is 4,250 cases." 94 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com

2016 Taylor’s, Vintage Port 6x75cl

DE96
"Dense and heady on the nose with an attractive green, leafy edge. Sweet and pump on the palate with lovely bright cherry and damson fruit – nicely defined but not as big as some. Firm, tight-knit tannins on a long, linear finish which shows off the lovely purity of fruit. 6,500 cases in total." 96 pts., Richard Mayson, decanter.com

2016 Graham’s, Vintage Port 6x75cl

VM96
"The 2016 Graham's Vintage Port is inky black in colour. The bouquet is voluminous and intense, the aromas almost shrouding your head! Blackberry, black olive, clove and a touch of smoke, just a hint... of pencil box in the background. The palate is brilliant, quite brilliant. Supple tannin, a satin-like texture, perfect balance and unerring purity, this is a fabulous Graham's that effortlessly fans out and caresses the senses on the finish. This Graham's has huge potential and is going to give a lot of pleasure for many years." 96 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com

2016 La Rioja Alta, Vina Ardanza Reserva, Rioja 6x75cl

RP94
"The 2016 Viña Ardanza Reserva was produced with 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha that matured in used American oak barrels for three years, where it was hand-racked from barrel to barrel six times... in the case of Tempranillo and five times for the Garnacha, as it had a slightly shorter élevage of 30 months. Against all odds, I found the 2016 to be fresher than the 2015 and less developed, despite the fact that winemaker Julio Sáenz told me he considers it a warmer year. But I have found many wines I like in 2016, and the wine feels very clean and quite harmonious, younger and less developed, with more primary notes and a velvety mouthfeel. 600,000 bottles produced. The wine was bottled in June 2020." 94 pts., Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

2016 Domaine de Chevalier, Blanc Cru Classe, Pessac-Leognan 6x75cl

DE95
"This is so young right now, which seems crazy to say for a white wine, I know. But at two years old it has hardly begun to gather us to its side, let alone reveal its secrets. This will clearly have... plenty to show in a few years' time - white peach and pear flavours, and a gorgeous texture of slate caught against saline minerality. This is going to age, and then some..." 95 pts., Jane Anson, decanter.com

2016 Rizzi, Barbaresco, Pajore 6x75cl

JR17.5WE96
"Treiso. Tasted blind. Mid to deep ruby with orange tinges. Concentrated, complex nose with hints of cardamom and nutmeg. Elegant, lively fruit followed by bags of coating, bitter-sweet tannins that... are still a little tough and with marked acidity on the finish, but this has the bones for ageing." 17.5pts., Walter Speller, jancisrobinson.com, 14/5/2019

2016 Enzo Boglietti, Barolo, Brunate 6x75cl

JR17
"Light, bright ruby colour with an orange hue. Beautifully lifted bouquet of red and dark fruit, fresh rose and some spice. A classy version of Brunate that combines austerity, vibrant fruit... characters and fine tannins. Persistent, fulfilling and exquisitely varietal. The silty clay soil with little organic matter is responsible for the powerful yet austere structure, the large clay patches give the complexity of flavours and aromas." Enzo Boglietti Tasting Note

2016 Enzo Boglietti, Barolo, Case Nere 6x75cl

"Trademark smoky nose. Nice structure here and a bit more sweet fruit to support the powerful tannins. Nice mouth-watering acidity lifts the wine and this should age and really come into itself nicely." 17 pts., Alistair Cooper, jancisrobinson.com

2016 Buon Tempo, Brunello di Montalcino 6x75cl

"Open-knit and friendly, this cheerful Brunello leads with cherry and blackberry. Charmingly accented by flint and pepper, the palate offers lots of crunchy, fresh acidity.
