"Elegant with well-judged extraction and fine-grain tannins, Domaine du Pavillon's Grands Picotins was one of the best-sellers last year, and it will once again deliver excellent value and drinking pleasure in this vintage." (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2021 Benjamin Leroux, Savigny-les-Beaune 6x75cl

Gorgeous pinot purity on the nose, giving crushed strawberry, rose petal and a wisp of vanilla. Rounded on the palate, medium-bodied, with marmalade notes tinging the dark berry fruit. Deliciously bitter red/dark cherry finishing up. Superb.

2020 Domaine Anne-Francoise Gros, Savigny-les-Beaune Premier Cru, Aux Guettes 6x75cl

The wedding of Vosne-Romanée's Anne-Françoise Gros to Pommard's François Parent led to the establishment in 1988 of this superb domaine, with excellent holdings across both the Côte de Beaune and... the Côte de Nuits. With the help of their children Caroline and Mathieu, they produce generous wines of power and depth, with gentle extraction and cool maceration giving the wines a beautifully seductive velvety texture. The bottlings' labels are all adorned with a different female head, inspired by Anne-Françoise and the artist's interpretation of the vineyard's style. Well-made reds from Savigny have performed outstandingly in this vintage, and as one would expect from a producer of this quality, the fact is fully demonstrated in this lovely wine. From the premier cru vineyard adjacent to the Bois de Chenôve there is a warm, sun-kissed bouquet of ripe red fruit here, followed by a juicy, supple, medium-full mouthful of loveliness. With plenty of structure here to take it the distance, there is no hurry, but this will be delightful in just a few years - and indeed long after.

2019 Domaine Rossignol Trapet, Savigny-les-Beaune, Les Bas Liards 12x75cl

"...a deep cherry colour with garnet highlights. It boasts a bouquet of small red and black fruits (blackcurrant, cherry, raspberry) and flowers (violet). The body is ample and discreetly tannic and... the fruit remains present. Frequently one will find an elegant hint of Morello cherry. Roundness, volume, power and balance are all here, and in just the right proportions." Domaine Tasting Note

2020 Domaine Albert Bichot, Pavillon, Savigny-Les-Beaune Premier Cru, Les Grands Picotins 6x75cl

An exciting new addition to our offer last year, and continuing on good form in 2020, Domaine Du Pavillon is located south of Pommard in the Côte de Beaune. Just as at Domaine du Clos Frantin in... Nuits-Saint-Georges, they practice organic viticulture with an ongoing respect for the complex equilibrium found in nature. The winery was modernized in 2016, allowing the vinification of more of the Côte de Beaune’s star single vineyard wines. From the 2019 vintage, all the wines from the estate bear the certified “organic wine” label. A new addition to our portfolio, easily earning its place in our roster. The winemaker included some whole-bunch this year, giving this a lifted, aromatic and floral nose. This is a study in understated elegance and red-fruit driven, classy, delicate Burgundy - yet with plenty of subtle intensity and power on the finish. One for lovers of terroir-specific Burgundy.
