This has plenty of fruit on the nose: small red cherries, redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit, a touch of... cedar in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with wonderful definition and mineralité, dark fruit, hints of block tea and spices, really harmonious and sappy on the finish. "The luxury cuvee, the 2013 Le Plus de la Fleur de Bouard, is a limited production from what is considered to be the best parcel in the vineyard. This 100% Merlot reveals unreal concentration as well... as an opaque blue/purple color, and abundant notes of blueberry liqueur, lead pencil shavings, violets, black currants and black cherries. Deep, opulent and voluptuously textured, this is a candidate for the wine of the vintage. It should drink well for 10-15 years, perhaps longer.
