Aligoté. A grape variety that is often ignored or overlooked, but one very much on the rise across the Côte d’Or, and which can be a real delight in the hands of top producers. Vincent’s lovely example comes from vines in the Meursault region but located on richer and more fertile soils than those reserved for his chardonnay and pinot noir. Deliciously fresh and uplifting with a perfume of apricots and pear, it is a clean and mouth-watering aperitif wine which will also complement seafoods and salads. We generally use specialised fine wine delivery couriers rather than standard couriers, giving a much higher level of care and accuracy in delivering fine wines safely to you. Wines can be delivered duty-paid to UK addresses upon payment of the required duty, VAT, delivery and storage charges (if applicable). Duty and VAT are as set by HMRC at the time of delivery. Delivery charges are based on number of cases to be delivered and are standard for all UK addresses except highlands and islands. Please ask for a quotation for highlands and islands, transfers to another bonded warehouse and for international transfers.

Mr.Wheeler’s Private Reserves offer perfect storage conditions for your fine wine until you are ready to drink or sell it. Our in-bond facilities are temperature and moisture-controlled, fully insured at replacement value, and accessible whenever you want. At Mr.Wheeler’s specialist wine storage facility in Burton-Upon-Trent, all private client reserves are marked with a unique rotation number as required by HM Revenue & Customs for bonded goods. In addition, each case of wine is clearly identifiable, confirming your ownership.

An exciting new addition to our offer a couple of years ago, and continuing on good form in 2020, Domaine Du Pavillon is located south of Pommard in the Côte de Beaune. Just as at Domaine du Clos... Frantin in Nuits-Saint-Georges, they practice organic viticulture with an ongoing respect for the complex equilibrium found in nature. The winery was modernized in 2016, allowing the vinification of more of the Côte de Beaune’s star single vineyard wines. From the 2019 vintage, all the wines from the estate have borne the certified “organic wine” label.

The 2020 Chablis Village comes from 50 different plots around 50 years old, the majority planted at the end of the 1960s. The simple but well-defined bouquet of Granny Smith apples is light and airy.... The palate is crisp and taut with citrus lemon and saline notes.
