“The inky hued 2020 Ermitage L’Ermite is heavenly stuff, but as usual, it’s not for the instant gratification crowd. It’s also the first vintage where they’ve kept some stems as well, although it’s impossible to tell at this young stage. Vibrant and pure cassis and blue fruits as well as powdered stone and liquid rock-like characteristics define this primordial yet flawlessly put together Hermitage. It has a finish that won’t quit and is another legendary wine from the team at Chapoutier.” 98-100 pts., Jeb Dunnuck

Robert Parker 96-98
The 2020 Ermitage l’Ermite is a letdown only in the context of the incomparably magnificent 2019 version. The pure cassis fruit comes across as almost a bit one-dimensional, but that one fruit dimension is so broad and deep as to make any objections mere quibbles. Full-bodied and tannic, marked by a granite-rooted sense of austerity, the wine finishes silky, long and vibrant—another tour de force from one of Hermitage’s most privileged sites. [20/01/2022]

Delivery
We generally use specialised fine wine delivery couriers rather than standard couriers, giving a much higher level of care and accuracy in delivering fine wines safely to you. Wines can be delivered duty-paid to UK addresses upon payment of the required duty, VAT, delivery and storage charges (if applicable). Duty and VAT are as set by HMRC at the time of delivery. Delivery charges are based on number of cases to be delivered and are standard for all UK addresses except highlands and islands. Please ask for a quotation for highlands and islands, transfers to another bonded warehouse and for international transfers.
Please read our Delivery page for more details.
