Tasting Notes
Jasper Morris 90
“Plump crimson purple, with a generous easy-going nose, plenty of charm. Just when it looks as though it might be too easy going the second half of the palate delivers a richer deeper fruit, with good concentration and the right thread of acidity. Fine persistence.” 4 stars
Robert Parker 88-90
“Aromas of black plums and raspberries, framed by a deft touch of spicy oak, introduce the 2019 Volnay Vieilles Vignes, a medium-bodied, lively and nicely concentrated wine built around bright acids and powdery tannins. From eight parcels amounting to some 1.8 hectares, it’s the domaine’s most consequential cuvée.”
