2018 G.D. Vajra, Barolo, Bricco delle Viole 6x75cl

RP95
"The 2018 Barolo Bricco delle Viole is not super intense, but it is balanced in its own way. The wine is subdued but complete with softly yielding tannins to support an elegantly streamlined... mouthfeel. Bricco delle Viole is a high and cool growing site in Barolo at 400 to 480 meters in elevation with characteristic Sant'Agata marl soils with fossils. The wine represents a selection of fruit from over seven hectares. With fermentation in steel tank and aging in large Slavonian oak, you are invited to a silky, lifted and beautifully delicate experience with an accessible personality." 95 points, Monica Larner, www.robertparker.com

2018 G.D. Vajra, Barolo, Albe 6x75cl

JR17
"Lovely Nebbiolo aromas of rose, violet, red berry and botanical herb shape the fragrant nose. Smooth and savory, the elegant palate features juicy red cherry, crushed raspberry and cake spice... alongside polished tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced. It's already drinking beautifully but also promises years of pleasure. Enjoy through 2030." 94 pts., Kerin O'Keefe, 9/1/2022

2018 Giovanni Almondo, Roero, Bric Valdiana 6x75cl

The Almondo family have been in Piedmont for the past 600 years, yet their foray into winemaking only dates to 1980 when Domenico came up with an ambitious plan to create top quality wine from their... family vineyard. The result is superb, and the Roero Bric is a Nebbiolo-based red cuvée that will age beautifully and represents a stunning value alternative to the more famous names across the Tanaro river, Barbaresco or Barolo. The 2021 exhibits tell-tale floral and sweet yet crunchy red cherry aromatics, with hints of peppery spice. Lovely mouthfill and power, this is very pleasant now and will improve for the next 5 to 7 years. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2019 Clos des Lunes, Lune d’Argent, Bordeaux 6x75cl

RP88-90
"Such an aromatic nose, wow, the aromas just jump out the glass - lime, mandarin peel, candied lemon - smells more on the Sauvignon side. This is lovely on the palate, it has a great weight with... definition and structure from the Semillon. There is acidity but it's really well integrated giving a rounder, more wide and weighty wine than light and super fresh. I like the style, it's gourmet and rich but still with a lovely lift and overall appeal. This also has a really delicate but wonderful florality to the fruit - perfumed lychee, pear and peach. Delicious. Just short of unctuous but on the good side. Crack open now and enjoy with food." 93 pts., Georgina Hindle, decanter.com

2019 Jean-Jacques Girard, Savigny-les-Beaune Premier Cru, Aux Fourneaux 6x75cl

JR16
"Cask sample. Mid crimson. Aroma of sweet oak spice, invitingly fruity – red fruits. Creamy, velvet-like texture, juicy and fresh, lively too. Just a very slight bitterness on the finish, as with the straight Savigny, but that does increase the freshness." 16pts., Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com

2018 Chateau Laroque Grand Cru Classe, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 6x75cl

VM92
"The 2018 Laroque fulfills the promise it showed from barrel last year. It has an irresistible bouquet of layered black cherry and blueberry fruit, fresh and lively with beautifully integrated oak.... The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity and a spicy, black-pepper-tinged finish that feels ever so slightly attenuated. Give this 3–4 years in bottle if you can." 92 pts., Neal Martin, www.vinous.com

2005 Chateau Cos Labory 5eme Cru Classe, Saint-Estephe 12x75cl

RP89
"One of the finest wines I have tasted from this estate, the 2005 Cos Labory exhibits a deep ruby/purple hue, aromas of road tar, blackberries, creme de cassis, forest floor, smoke, and graphite,... medium to full body, and abundant tannin. It is a complete, dense effort with high tannins in the finish. Once the tannins melt away, it should represent an outstanding example of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030." 89 pts., Robert Parker Jr.

2019 Domaine Gerard Thomas, Saint-Aubin Premier Cru, Les Murgers des Dents de Chien 12x75cl

JR16.5
"A little more smokily reductive than the Champ Tirant but still toasty on the palate. Rich, sweetly oaky but still fresh. A very definite style and still very well balanced by the freshness. Somehow a bit obvious but well done in that style. Comforting. " 16.5 pts., Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com

2021 Domaine Henri Magnien, Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru, La Coutiere 6x75cl

A small percentage of whole bunch really opens the nose up here with aromatic florals and notes of spearmint lifting a black cherry liqueur core and winter spice. Great precision and harmony on the palate already, then terrific length in an approachable Villages bottling. This will age with much grace. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2021 Domaine des Malandes, Chablis Grand Cru, Les Clos 6x75cl

Les Clos produces some of the most age-worthy wines from the commune and is for many the greatest of Grand Cru sites. Here, 50-year-old vines provide profound depth of flavour, nuance and structure for some seriously graceful evolution over the next ten years. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2021 Domaine des Malandes, Chablis Grand Cru, Vaudesir 6x75cl

From this cooler site, the 2021 vintage shows its true precision and concentration. White stone fruit, pear drops, brisk acidity and a touch of lime zest on the finish. Though approachable now, such structure as it has will truly delight in two years' time. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2015 Domdechant Werner, Hochheimer Domdechaney Riesling Auslese, Rheingau 6x75cl

RP90
"Opening with concentrated and ripe fruit as well as honey flavors on the nose, the 2015 Rheingau Riesling Hochheimer Domdechaney Auslese is a lush, generous and piquant though not very precise or... stimulating Auslese. It is very sweet and shows piquancy and grip but doesn't have the precision and elegance found in the finest Auslesen." 90 pts., Stephane Rheinhardt, robertparker.com

2019 Domaine Les Pallieres, Gigondas, Racines 6x75cl

VM95
"Brilliant ruby. A powerfully scented bouquet displays mineral-accented red and blue fruit aromas complemented by pungent flowers, white pepper and incense touches. Offers deep red and blue fruit... liqueur, cherry-cola and succulent herb flavors that show good definition and chewy texture. It comes off graceful for its depth and closes on a repeating floral note, with outstanding length and smoky, mineral cut. " 95 pts., Josh Raynolds, vinous.com

2018 Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Fay, Napa Valley 6x75cl

WE98
"From the famous site that kicked off a revolution in Napa Cabernet, this wine is aromatic in cedar, earth and sage. Robust and generously concentrated in berry, cherry and cassis, it is complex, structured and velvety smooth, the tannins supple and supportive, unfurling slowly in the glass." Virginie Boone, 98pts.

2017 Chateau de Beaucastel Rouge, Chateauneuf-du-Pape 3x75cl

RP94
"Now that it's in the bottle, Beaucastel's 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape comes across as full-bodied and rich, but also a bit shut down and reticent on the nose. With air, black olives and asphalt give... way to black cherries and briery spice notes, backed by velvety but substantial tannins and a long, richly textured finish. Given a few years in the cellar, I have no doubt this will drink well for the next 15-plus years." 94+ pts., Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com

Sweet red cherry, spice, leather, tobacco and menthol ore amped up by the natural richness and radiance of... the year. This is on especially supple, lush Difese. I would prefer to drink it over the next handful of years. " 90 pts., Antonio Galloni, robertparker.com

2017 Domaines Barons de Rothschild & Nicolas Catena, Caro, Mendoza 6x75cl

"The 2017 Caro was produced as a blend of 74% Malbec and 26% Cabernet Sauvignon. It matured in French oak barrels, 80% of them new, for 18 months. It has notes of ripe black fruit, licorice and a... touch of earth, leather and graphite. The palate reveals some astringency and a dry finish with some bitterness from the oak. 56,000 bottles and 1,520 magnums produced. It was bottled in February 2019." 91 pts., Luis Guiterrez, robertparker.com

2019 Domaine Morey Coffinet, Bourgogne, Blanc 6x75cl

We discovered the wines from Morey-Coffinet in the autumn, and what an introduction to the range this Bourgogne Côte d’Or is - lovely melon and a hint of white peach are followed by a beautifully... pithy and saline finish. A Bourgogne of great subtlety and style with perfect balance. Excellent and could easily be mistaken for Chassagne-Montrachet! (Mr,Wheeler tasting note)

2019 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Bourgogne, Pinot Noir 6x75cl

Domaine Livera is one of the best additions to our portfolio in recent years, and you don’t need to climb the quality ladder very far to realise why. On the first rung sits a Bourgogne pinot noir... of such gorgeous primary fruit, super crunchy, juicy, tantalisingly moreish, it is nigh on impossible not to immediately pour a second glass. 2015 Domaine Zind Humbrecht, Clos Windsbuhl Pinot Gris 6x75cl

VM91
"Golden-tinged yellow. Delicate nose with initially reduced aromas of yellow apple, nectarine and a floral quality that in my experience is not typicol of this wine. Bright, penetrating flavors... similar to the aromas have a brood, diffuse quality on the floral finish. Interestingly, while the 2014 Pinot Gris Clos Windsbuhl was fairly dry, this is more off-dry, boasting a little less than 13 g/L residual sugar. So it is softer and juicier than usual, and is still a lovely wine, though I personally prefer previous vintages. Honestly, tasting blind, I would never have recognized this as the Clos Windsbuhl, but in my defense, it's the only one since 2003 that was not hit at all by noble rot." 91 pts., Ian d'Agata, vinous.com

2015 Henschke, Keyneton Euphonium, Barossa 6x75cl

RP92
"With its blend of 66% Shiraz, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Keyneton Euphonium is a more structured Syrah-based blend than the Henry's Seven. Less generous... young, it promises at least a decade of cellaring potential. Hints of cedar and green-edged tobacco appear on the nose, alongside scents of cassis, mocha and pristine earthy notes of clean compost. It's medium to full-bodied, with tannins that are both silky and firm providing focus and length." 92 pts., Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com
