2019 Jean-Jacques Girard, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 6x75cl
"Wine vinified and aged in oak barrels for 14 months. Yellow with golden reflections, shiny, toasted with a great aromatic palette. Complex palate, very aromatic and intense. Of a beautiful material and an incomparable length", domaine-girard.com
£619.98 / Case£103.33 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: Immediate2019 Chateau d’Yquem Premier Cru Superieur, Sauternes 3x75cl
DE97
"For certain, it has a highly-aromatic bouquet that is beguiling in purity, enticing aromas of honeysuckle and saffron, soon joined by camomile, white flowers and orange blossom. It has wonderful... delineation and gains intensity with aeration. The palate is supremely well-balanced with fine bead of acidity. Very harmonious and armed with just the right amount of viscosity, this Yquem is surprisingly understated at first but gains presence, offering irresistible flavours of layers of honey, lemongrass, lemon thyme and orange pith. Yquem is so tempting in its youth, but I feel that this vintage will repay those with the nous to cellar for at least a decade." 98 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com
£750 / Case£250 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: Immediate2020 Chateau Haut-Brion, Blanc, Pessac-Leognan 3x75cl
DE96
"A blend of 71.4% Sauvignon Blanc and 28.6% Semillon, harvested 20th to 27th August and with an alcohol of 13.9%, the 2020 Haut-Brion Blanc slowly unfurls to reveal notes of fresh pears, spiced apple... slices, orange zest and lemongrass, plus touches of wet pebbles, dillseed and baking bread. The medium-bodied palate wears its lightly spicy apple and pear layers with grace and sophistication, supported by a racy backbone and subtly creamy texture, finishing long and mineral laced. It will need time, but there's no doubting it's a knock-out." Drink 2028-2045. 95-97+ pts., Lisa Perrotti-Brown, robertparker.com

DE92
"Samuel Billaud produces his Chablis from a blend of three different parcels. Quite restrained, concentrated and flinty on the palate, there is lovely purity of fruit here. A classic example of village Chablis which will age well.", 92, Andy Howard MW, decanter.com

JR17+VM95WE96
"Possibly the most complete Hunting Hill Chardonnay I've tasted in youth, the 2020 provides harmonious, melt-in-your-mouth impression. It has breadth and concentration but retains a sense of... elegance on the midpalate before finishing with precision and length. Yes, there's a little bit of flint character too, but then Hunting Hill is known to be reductive; give it time. Like Forrest Gump, it runs through a finish line and keeps on going effortlessly. There's no box of chocolates here, though; it's all white nectarine, citrus, white flowers and o touch of smoked nuts." 95 pts., Rebecca Gibb MW, vinous.com

"Vibrant mandarin, really fresh and lively aromatic display. Has some glycerol gummy softness on the palate, but the wine has a nice sense of fluidity and brisk acidity. Very well balanced, fresh, clear-cut and precise. Well-integrated oak, fruit to the fore. Really deliciously drinkable." 94 pts., Matt Walls, decanter.com

"In bottle. Pale colour and a lean tight nose but suggesting more fruit to come. There is a light sulphur reduction which will soon blow off. Clean and pure with an energetic thread, correctly oaked behind. Good length to finish." Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com

"The 2019 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is a rich, powerful wine. Lemon confit, dried flowers, marzipan, sage and mint all open. In 2019, the Blanc has a distinct orchard fruit and savory character.... Ultimately, it feels a bit heavy and lacking in freshness. That said, the Blanc has a track record for developing beautifully for decades, so let's see what happens. I must say I expected more energy and delineation." 92 pts., Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com
£360 / Case£60 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: Immediate2021 Domaine Albert Bichot (Long-Depaquit), Chablis Premier Cru, Les Lys 6x75cl
"Redolent of hawthorn and lime, with supreme structure and brisk acidity, once again Les Lys proves itself a great fit in our portfolio as an enticing source of delicately styled, perfumed 1er Cru Chablis. Quite exquisite." (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

VM93-95
"The 2021 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru comes from 4.1 hectares mainly located on the upper sector of the Grand Cru, the vines planted in the postwar period by Maurice Fevre, the father of William... Fevre. It has a powerful bouquet with hints of white flower permeating the citrus fruit and apple blossom aromas. The palate has wonderful salinity on the entry, a fine bead of acidity, citrus-fresh with clementine, hints of peach and a twist of bitter lemon that keeps the finish on its tippy-toes. Great potential. " 93-95 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com

VM93-95
"The 2021 Chablis Bougros Cote Bouguerots Grand Cru, which was cropped at just 17bl/ha this year, has an intriguing bouquet with hints of peach skin and honeysuckle, the precocity of this parcel... seeping through as it opens up. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh, quite linear with hints of orange pith and even a dab of ginger towards the spicy, energetic finish. Excellent. £285 / Case£95 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: En Primeur2021 Domaine William Fevre, Chablis Grand Cru, Preuses 3x75cl
VM94-96
"The 2021 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru comes from 2.5-hectares split over two parcels. This has one of my favourite aromatics from Fevre this year with superb delineation and mineralite. The palate... is harmonious and poised, very focused and tensile, plenty of energy with a touch of lime and clementine towards the persistent finish. This is an outstanding Chablis that should age supremely well in bottle." 94-96 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com

VM91-93
"The 2021 Chablis Bougros Grand Cru comes from southwest facing parcels (Fevre almost half the holdings in this Grand Cru) has a very marine-influenced bouquet with touches of granite and a light... smoky note. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, nicely focused with a touch of quince complementing the citrus fruit, though I am just seeking a little more mineralito to come through on the final third. £200 / Case£66.67 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: En Primeur2021 Samuel Billaud, Chablis Grand Cru, Blanchot 6x75cl
From the eastern end of the grands crus vineyards and adjacent to Les Clos. Here, Blanchots shows elegant, honeyed fruit, a whisper of oak and seriously impressive length. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)
£585 / Case£97.50 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: En Primeur2021 Laurent Cognard, Montagny Premier Cru, La RaRissime 6x75cl
"This unique blend, produced for the first and possibly the only time in 2021, is the silver lining to Laurent's top plots being hit so hard by the frost that none of them could be vinified on their... own. Instead he took the decision to make one blend with the cream of his 1er Cru holdings, including Le Vieux Château, Le Clos du Vieux Château and La Grande Pièce. The result is a wine of sublime concentration, impressive dry extract (which translates as great texture) and a lifting, nervy acidity peaking through the finish and carrying the whole as it lingers on. Amazingly intense, expressive and perfectly balanced - very special indeed." (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

Stéphane Robert will typically make only 2 barrels of La Chanson vineyard in a vintage. 100% viognier, that is vinified as is his St Péray to obtain a similar level of invigorating freshness. and... aged for 8 months. Pale yellow, with a gorgeous nose of apricot and white flowers that leads to an aromatic, expansive palate redolent of stone fruit, dried herbs, almonds and white honey. A fantastic foodie alternative to white burgundy.

£165 / Case£27.50 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: Immediate2020 Domaine du Tunnel, Saint-Peray, Roussanne 3x150cl
This has always been one of our favourite wines from the Tunnel range – a real tour de force, and a great expression of the Roussanne grape. Perfumed and aromatic, with a little barrel-ageing... adding some toast and exotic spice. Rich and luscious, with rounded peach and pear fruit, but finishing with a mouth-watering citrus freshness. A delicious, characterful white Rhone.

"Such an aromatic nose, wow, the aromas just jump out the glass - lime, mandarin peel, candied lemon - smells more on the Sauvignon side. This is lovely on the palate, it has a great weight with... definition and structure from the Semillon. There is acidity but it's really well integrated giving a rounder, more wide and weighty wine than light and super fresh. I like the style, it's gourmet and rich but still with a lovely lift and overall appeal. This also has a really delicate but wonderful florality to the fruit - perfumed lychee, pear and peach. Delicious. Just short of unctuous but on the good side. Crack open now and enjoy with food." 93 pts., Georgina Hindle, decanter.com

Always a very approachable premier cru, Vau de Vey in 2020 shows delicious citrus peel and green apple, with a lovely richness to the mid-palate and a long, pithy finish. An excellent example from the village, and great value to boot.

"Looks quite deep gold and old! There was a very mature note on palate entry but then this was followed up by a distinctively green-fruit streak running through it – doubtless evidence of the... unusual ageing pattern of white Hermitage. I would hold on to it for a while now, though it was probably pretty winning at two years old." 17 pts., Jancis Robinson
