2023 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte, Blanc, Pessac-Leognan 6x75cl

DE94-96VM95-97
“The 2023 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc was picked from August 23 to September 9 at 36hL/ha and matured in 50% new oak. It has a reticent bouquet at first, requiring a few swirls of the glass to reveal... touches of orange pith, peach skin, wild fennel and light pressed white flower scents. The palate is very well balanced with a lovely creamy texture, counterbalanced by the taut line of acidity. Very poised and focused, it's somehow almost Corton-Charlemagne-inspired on the finish (perhaps due to the umami). This is a seriously fine white Pessac-Leognan.” 95-97 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com

2023 Chateau Suduiraut Premier Cru Classe, Sauternes 12×37.5cl

VM98-100
"The 2023 Suduiraut (100% Sémillon) is a real stunner. Light on its feet yet wonderfully deep, the 2023 offers up a heady mix of tangerine oil, mint, white flowers, apricot and passion fruit.... Readers will find a Sauternes that is more finesse than power. The 2023 is essentially a blend of three picks. The first was done at the end of September and accounted for 20% of the crop. The core of the vineyard, about 75%, was picked in a day ten window in October, following the September rains. A smaller third pick rounded out the harvest” 98-100 points Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, April 2024

2023 Domaine de Chevalier, Blanc Cru Classe, Pessac-Leognan 6x75cl

VM94-96
"The 2023 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc was picked from August 28 to September 6 at 45hUha. It's a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon. This has wonderful purity on the nose, revealing scents... of lime, green apple and crushed stone—one of the most precise I have encountered at this early stage. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity that lends this white Pessac-Leognan superb focus. There's real intensity here, building with a sense of nascent confidence toward the mineral, almost slate-like finish. Very long and tender, this is a white Domaine de Chevalier from the top drawer. 2023 Clos des Lunes, Lune d’Argent, Bordeaux 6x75cl

VM90-92
"The 2023 Lune d'Argent was picked from August 28 to September 21 over several passes through the vines. It comprises 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc. The Lune d'Argent has an open nose, a... little lighter than expected, though it gains intensity with aeration. Scents of Golden Delicious apple and light grass clippings emerge from the glass. The palate is nicely balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and sapid, presenting a lovely umami sensation. It has a fair bit of complexity toward the pithy finish thanks to that Semillon. Excellent." 90-92 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com

2020 Domaine Albert Bichot (Long-Depaquit), Chablis Grand Cru, Moutonne 6x75cl

JM93-96JR17.5+
*ON ALLOCATION - £570 per case of 6 bottles IB* Domaine Long-Depaquit can be traced back to 1791 when Jean Depaquit and his brother Simon moved to Chablis. They purchased vineyards and developed... their domaine into one of the most renowned producers of Chablis today. Now owned by Albert Bichot in Beaune, Domaine Long-Depaquit offers an impressive range of Premier and Grand Crus. A sustainable approach, limited yields and skilful winemaking creates incredibly invigorating and mineral-edged wines. ‘La Moutonne’, a monopole in the heart of the Grand Cru vineyards, between Vaudésir and Les Preuses is one of their most celebrated cuvées, known for its incredible precision, elegance and staying power. Whichever cuvée you choose, these are delicious, mineral rich Chardonnays of the highest order. Opening the proceedings at a Bichot tasting in London, the 2020 La Moutonne quite simply blew us away. Crushed oyster shell and citrus on the nose, followed on the palate by a superb energy with an exquisite texture. Laser-like, yet with excellent weight and power on the long finish, this is very, very special.

2022 Domaine Gerard Thomas, Saint-Aubin Premier Cru, Les Perrieres 6x75cl

“We discovered this new cuvée with Isabelle this year, while the vines were young the grapes from their 1er Cru Perrières were declassified into some of the Villages and regional appellations,... However, now that the vineyard is maturing, from 2022, the quality of the fruit very much justifies being bottled under its own label. We found it singing and decided to include it in our portfolio as it is the perfect counterpart to the rich and full-bodied Murgers des Dents de Chien that has been a staple of our offering for years. les Perrières delights with notes of hawthorn lifting the citrus-led nose. Excellent precision, juicy citrus fruit again on the palate, and the combination of a laser-like acid structure and mineral notes on the finish bring much focus and length. An impressive first vintage under this label!” Mr.Wheeler Wine

2022 Domaine Gerard Thomas, Saint-Aubin Premier Cru, Les Murgers des Dents de Chien 6x75cl

Named after the shape of the many jagged walls around the vineyard, Murgers des Dents de Chien has been one of our best selling white Burgundies for many years now. The 2022 shows superb mid-palate... richness with a beautifully creamy texture and plenty of fresh apple and citrus notes with hints of cereals and hazelnut. Lovely harmony and length, very fresh indeed on the long finish.

2022 Domaine Gerard Thomas, Saint-Aubin, Champ Tirant 6x75cl

"Impressive tension for this Lieu dit Village wine - it is a big step up from the regional appellations. Super fresh with lime-scented green apple at the core, and the laser-like acidity balances the whole very well indeed. It lingers for ages with a saline, sapid finish. Very, very good and begging to be paired with food. " Mr Wheeler Wine

2019 Chateau Coutet Premier Cru Classe, Barsac 6x75cl

"The 2019 Coutet has a very intense bouquet of wild honey, saffron, dried pineapple chunks and a touch of cold, wet stones, all imbued with palpable joie-de-vivre. The taut, fresh palate is... underpinned by a silver bead of acidity (always one of this Barsac's leitmotifs), offering clementine, peach and nectarine toward the persistent finish. A joy." 95 pts., Neal Martin, www.vinous.com

2017 Klein Constantia, Vin De Constance, Constantia 3x150cl

"Lustrous mid gold. Dried apricot, orange blossom and citrus peels on the nose, suffused with nutmeg, clove and coffee cream, and an earthy, spicy, saffron-like note. Richly sweet and unctuously... textured, but with a streak of acidity that balances beautifully, and gives a preserved grapefruit and lemon flavour. Fantastic length." 18 pts., Tim Jackson MW, jancisrobinson.com

2022 Claudie Jobard, Rully, Montagne la Folie 6x75cl

"More new oak and less 1-year-old due to volumes difference between ‘21 and 22 – all barrel fermented. Some pear-drop flavours on the palate; juicy, and some dry extract, so texturally a little... hint of pithy grapefruit lifting the riper citrus notes. Recognisably Rully, with its buttery and citrus edge and energy. Elegant and delicious, ready to drink now and for the mid-term (3-4 years). " (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2022 Domaine Morey Coffinet, Chassagne-Montrachet 6x75cl

"Pale lemon. From three vines, Chaumes, Lombardes, Charrieres, from south to north. More pure fruit less reduction, a very pleasing orchard fruit on the palate, a touch softer in the middle, good acidity. Attractively balanced, probably will be accessible young. Good long aftertaste." 91 pts. Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com

2022 Domaine Jacques Carillon, Puligny-Montrachet 6x75cl

JM90-93
Pale yellow, firm bouquet as a little bit of sulphur at this stage. Clean, brisk, medium powerful. Fills out really well on the palate, with a grapey generosity. More spritz in a second sample, a... tiny bit more alcohol, but excellent length. The third is crunchy and spicy. Excellent. Seven plots in all across the village Drink from 2027-2032. "Planted in 2013 close by the Château de Chassagne. Clear pale lemon yellow, with quite an open bouquet, light apple fruit, without the complete feel of the Puligny. A little youthful bitterness, but good length, an attractive wine which does not quite challenge the Puligny." 88-91 pts., Jasper Morris MW, www.insideburgundy.com

2022 Patrick Javillier, Meursault, Tete Murgers 6x75cl

JM91-93
"Mid lemon and lime colour. The bouquet is strict, backward nose but with promise. This develops beautifully, there is as always so much more muscle on this, and it is a very complete wine, with all the elements properly integrated, including a fine thread of acidity. Drink this and be happy." 91-93 pts., Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com

2022 Patrick Javillier, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 6x75cl

JM93-95
"This is still in barrel, unracked. Pale primrose, the bouquet is less easy to discern at this stage, with a minor oxidative note and some reduction. Put that to one side. On the palate this is... classic, with a wealth of white fruit, a mineral underlay, a touch of oak too of course, some power and good length. Should emerge from its cocoon very soundly." 93-96 pts., Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com

2022 Patrick Javillier, Meursault, Les Tillets 6x75cl

JM89-92
"A light green tint in the colour, with a fresh and floral nose, as always with a touch of lime blossom. Fine energy on the palate without putting on too much flesh, indeed medium bodied, quite an elegant hillside Meursault. " 89-92 pts., Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com

2022 Benjamin Leroux, Meursault, Blanc 6x75cl

JM89-92
"On its finings, the village Meursault is blended from lower slope vineyards plus Bois de Blagny just under the forest. Elegant white fruit, a mix of apple and pear, displaying more body weight on... the palate. The Meursault retains good acidity as well, so this will continue to build in the right direction." 89-92 pts., Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com
