2010 Chateau Montlandrie, Castillon-Cotes de Bordeaux 12x75cl

"The Montlandrie is from limestone soils, a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc aged in 50% new oak. The nose is very harmonious and pure with scents of strawberry cheesecake, fresh raspberry... and a touch of spice. There is just a little reduction but it soon blows away. The palate is medium-bodied with very smooth, filigree tannins. There is a fine sense of symmetry to this wine, focused and long in the mouth, with a sensual dark cherry and bergamot tinged finish. Gorgeous. Tasted November 2012." 93 pts, Neal Martin,

2018 G.D. Vajra, Barolo, Bricco delle Viole 6x75cl

"The 2018 Barolo Bricco delle Viole is not super intense, but it is balanced in its own way. The wine is subdued but complete with softly yielding tannins to support an elegantly streamlined... mouthfeel. Bricco delle Viole is a high and cool growing site in Barolo at 400 to 480 meters in elevation with characteristic Sant'Agata marl soils with fossils. The wine represents a selection of fruit from over seven hectares. With fermentation in steel tank and aging in large Slavonian oak, you are invited to a silky, lifted and beautifully delicate experience with an accessible personality." 95 points, Monica Larner,

2018 G.D. Vajra, Barolo, Albe 6x75cl

"Lovely Nebbiolo aromas of rose, violet, red berry and botanical herb shape the fragrant nose. Smooth and savory, the elegant palate features juicy red cherry, crushed raspberry and cake spice... alongside polished tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced. It's already drinking beautifully but also promises years of pleasure. Enjoy through 2030." 94 pts., Kerin O'Keefe, 9/1/2022

2017 G.D. Vajra, Barolo, Bricco delle Viole 6x75cl

"Transparent pillar-box red. Powerful nose of dried something. Cherries? Rose petals? Perhaps both. Super-fresh, despite the alcohol, with such great presence in the mouth. It's not nearly ready but... it's clearly destined for great things. Sweet and chewy with a strong mineral undertow. Jewel-bright fruit. Real lift but more powerful than ethereal. Even slightly pungent with a whiff of cordite. Really refreshing health juice. Great stuff." 17.5 pts., Jancis Robinson, 10/3/2021

2019 Paitin, Barbaresco, Serraboella 6x75cl

"Sandalwood and culinary spice aromas mingle with rose leather and camphor. Showing structure and a racy finesse, the vibrant palate is young and loaded with nervous energy at this stage but already... delicious, offering juicy Morello cherry, raspberry and star anise framed in taut, refined tannins and bright acidity. Drink 2029–2044." 95 pts., Kerin O'Keefe,

2018 Giovanni Almondo, Roero, Bric Valdiana 6x75cl

The Almondo family have been in Piedmont for the past 600 years, yet their foray into winemaking only dates to 1980 when Domenico came up with an ambitious plan to create top quality wine from their... family vineyard. The result is superb, and the Roero Bric is a Nebbiolo-based red cuvée that will age beautifully and represents a stunning value alternative to the more famous names across the Tanaro river, Barbaresco or Barolo. The 2021 exhibits tell-tale floral and sweet yet crunchy red cherry aromatics, with hints of peppery spice. Lovely mouthfill and power, this is very pleasant now and will improve for the next 5 to 7 years. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2021 Jean-Marc Burgaud, Villages Vignes Lantignie, Beaujolais-Villages 12x75cl

"Now labelled as the 2021 Beaujolais-Lantignié rather than as Beaujolais-Villages, with a view to further foreground its Lantignié origins, this cuvée is once again a notable success. Offering up... aromas of smoky berries, spices and petals, it's medium-bodied, supple and seamless, with lively acids and a charming, giving profile." 91 pts., William Kelley,

2021 Jean-Marc Burgaud, Grand Cras , Morgon 12x75cl

"Notes of wild berries, plums, smoked duck and orange rind introduce the 2021 Morgon Grands Cras, a medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent wine that's supple and sensual, with lively acids and a saline finish. It's another wine that shows the lighter vintage at its best." 92 pts., William Kelley,

2019 Clos des Lunes, Lune d’Argent, Bordeaux 6x75cl

"Such an aromatic nose, wow, the aromas just jump out the glass - lime, mandarin peel, candied lemon - smells more on the Sauvignon side. This is lovely on the palate, it has a great weight with... definition and structure from the Semillon. There is acidity but it's really well integrated giving a rounder, more wide and weighty wine than light and super fresh. I like the style, it's gourmet and rich but still with a lovely lift and overall appeal. This also has a really delicate but wonderful florality to the fruit - perfumed lychee, pear and peach. Delicious. Just short of unctuous but on the good side. Crack open now and enjoy with food." 93 pts., Georgina Hindle,

2020 Domaine des Malandes, Chablis Grand Cru, Les Clos 6x75cl

André and Gabrielle Tremblay harvested their first grapes in the Fourchaume vineyard in 1949. They passed on what is now Domaine des Malandes to their daughter, who in turn bequeathed the estate to... her children Richard and Amandine, who are now at the helm of this excellent Domaine. The wines here shine in the 2020 vintage, and manage to combine the minerality, precision and classicality of traditional Chablis, with a touch more roundness, expression and generosity. The Premiers and Grands Crus are a beacon of quality. Often considered a candidate for the greatest Grand Cru vineyard of all, Les Clos typically produces some of the longest-lived wines from the commune, and this example, made from 50-year-old vines, certainly exhibits all the qualities it needs to evolve gracefully for the next decade at least.

2020 Domaine des Malandes, Chablis Premier Cru, Vau de Vey 6x75cl

Always a very approachable premier cru, Vau de Vey in 2020 shows delicious citrus peel and green apple, with a lovely richness to the mid-palate and a long, pithy finish. An excellent example from the village, and great value to boot.

2021 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Marsannay 6x75cl

2021 is a particularly good year for Marsannay, and this one stopped us in our tracks. Once again from this Domaine this is super juicy, yet now we are seeing power and ripe intensity, real depth and a long, fresh finish - this is absolutely gorgeous. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2021 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Gevrey-Chambertin, Clos Village 6x75cl

Darker, more savoury, explosive and spicy, much more muscular and structured than the previous cuvées - we are getting into 1er Cru territory here yet retaining the precision and purity of fruit cosseted in fleshy, juicy texture that is, in my opinion, the hallmark of the estate.
