Chaumes has 60 year old vigorous vines,... Chambres is pinot fin, 15-year-old. A deepish crimson ruby colour. The fruit is altogether fresher than the Bourgogne. Fresh and pretty on the nose with just a pleasant hint of bell pepper, along with floral aromatics. On the palate, this is soft and juicy with lovely character, beautifully crunchy and moreish -... Very pretty, Fresh, almost pithy-nose, a little grapefruit. Some apple and wet stone, too. On the palate very seductive texture, great mouthfill and moving from white peach and citrus to a very... saline, wet stone notes on the finish.
