2019 Penfolds, Bin 128 Shiraz, Coonawarra 6x75cl

RP91
"A regional style aged exclusively in French oak hogsheads (24% new), the 2019 Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz hints at cracked pepper and cedar on the nose, backed by deep, plummy fruit and brighter notes... of red raspberries. It's medium-bodied (almost light, by Penfolds's standards), framed by silky tannins and a lingering, elegant finish. Drinkable now, it has at least a decade of longevity ahead of it." 91 pts., Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com

2021 Dupre Goujon, Cote de Brouilly, L’Heronde 6x75cl

"Wow - what a wine. Crafted fro fruit grown on the Côte de Brouilly's famous pavé bleu (decomposed granite), the Lieu dit l'Héronde is so opened and expressive already, aromatic with raspberry and... black cherry fruit, hints of violets, spice, and on the palate it shows fabulous intensity and structure. Such a powerful wine, very much a Baby Hermitage lookalike, if there is such a thing. And what a back palate- stunning length, and such mineral linearity on that lingering finish. A Superstar, undoubtedly." (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

2020 Chateau Canon Premier Grand Cru Classe B, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 6x75cl

The 2020 Canon is a wine of mind-blowing purity and nuance. It has been nothing less than thrilling on the three occasions I have tasted it so for. Intensely saline and chalky, the 2020 possesses... spellbinding finesse and nuance. Red-toned fruit, crushed rocks, white pepper, rose petal and mint all come alive in the glass, buttressed by clean saline notes that extend the mid-palate into the finish. There is simply nothing like great Canon. And the 2020 is unquestionably a great Canon. 100 pts, Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com

2016 Ben Glaetzer, Amon Ra, Barossa Valley 6x75cl

RP96
"Dramatic, intense and powerful, the 2016 Amon Ra Shiraz recalls the 2004 in its youth, crammed with layers of fruit, complex, savory elements and rich, velvety tannins. It's full-bodied,... characterized by notes of grilled meat, espresso, black olive, cassis, vanilla, baking spices and an undercurrent of loamy earth. Yes, it's unapologetically big and bold, the product of a warm, sunny climate and ripe grapes, but it does show a sense of decorum, restraint and elegance on the long finish." 96 pts., Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com

2008 Pierre Moncuit, Millesime Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Cru 6x75cl

"Moncuit's Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Millesime shows a different facet of its personality in this version, with lower dosage vis-à-vis the Brut version. Here the flavors are brighter and... more sculpted throughout. Hints of toastiness, almond and tangerine oil add an exotic flair that makes the Extra Brut absolutely beguiling. Lower dosage seems to exalt the minerality and bright acids of the year, while pushing the fruit a bit into the background. Both Brut and Extra Brut bottlings are terrific; choosing among them comes down to personal preference. Dosage is grams per liter. Disgorged November 2020. " 94 pts, Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com

2012 Pierre Moncuit, Millesime Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Cru 6x75cl

Powerful and textured, the 2012 Blanc de Blancs from Moncuit follows in the footsteps of the superb 2008 vintage. Opulent on the nose with gorgeous lemon curd on toasted brioche with notes of ... hazelnut, a motif that follows through on the palate. An impressively rich and seductive Blanc de Blancs, and yet there is a gorgeous, minerally spine of acidity. Long and with a glorious future ahead for the next ten years or so. Mr Wheeler Wine

2008 Henriot, Cuvee Hemera 6x75cl

DE95
"Complexity is the watchword of 2008, reflected by the fact that Alice Tétienne is unable to pick a single ‘leading’ cru to define its characteristics; in fact, the wine boasts both the purity... and luminosity of the Chardonnay village of Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger, and at the same time the generosity and latent power of the Pinot Noir which comes from the grand cru of Verzenay. Only disgorged four months previously, the wine is reticent, but only up to a point. One can already discern the seductive marriage of power and elegance which looks set to inform its future. Rapier acidity already sits comfortably with well-upholstered fruit and the combination lends intimations of a long and happy evolution. Disgorged: November 2022. Dosage: 5g/L." 95 points, Simon Field MW, www.decanter.com

2018 Chateau Pichon Baron 2eme Cru Classe, Pauillac 6x75cl

VM97
"Suave and sophisticated, the 2018 Pichon Boron is a real heod-turner. Silky, polished tannins wrap oround a core of inky dark red/purplish berry fruit. More than anything else, the 2018 impresses... for its exceptionol balance. All the elements are so impeccably balanced. That will make the 2018 eosy to drink relatively early, olthough my preference would be to leave it in the cellor for the better part of the next decade. Rose petal, spice, blood orange and mint add brightness and perfume on the long, finely-knit finish." 97 pts., Antonio Galloni, vinous.com

2018 Penfolds, Grange, South Australia 6x75cl

RP99
"This wine comes with high expectations—as does the vintage. The 2018 vintage across South Australia (and cheekily, we could probably extend the accolade to all of Australia) was excellent. It was... warm, but without incident, and responsible for powerfully ripe, serious wines. Many producers made some of their best wines in this vintage. So here, to the 2018 Grange: there is spiced raspberry, lashings of salted licorice, red curry paste, layers of forest berries, rendered lamb fat and crushed pink peppercorns to start. In the mouth, the tannins close around the fruit with the same polish and seamlessness as the 2008, possibly the 2004? Very different vintages, but there is a textural similarity for me. This is polished and glossy and so very pretty. It contains 3% Cabernet Sauvignon this year, and 69% Barossa, 18% McLaren Vale and the balance from Clare Valley. Each of the regions brings with it its own characteristics. Barossa brings the red dirt, blood, deli meat and rust. McLaren Vale brings the plush purple fruits with a side of meat and licorice. Clare brings the polish, the opulence and the velvet texture. With their powers combined, this is an extraordinary Grange. One of the true greats, which will only get better as it ages." 99 pts., Erin Larkin, robertparker.com

2014 Chateau Beychevelle 4eme Cru Classe, Saint-Julien 6x75cl

RP92
“The 2014 Beychevelle has a very comely, pure bouquet with heightened dark cherry, blackcurrant and wilted violet scents rendering it almost more Margaux-like than Saint Julien. The palate is... medium-bodied, svelte in texture with light tannin. It is a nimble Beychevelle, light on its feet with wonderful freshness and tension towards the finish. This is a very well-crafted wine from Philippe Blanc and his team, a St. Julien that is nimble on its toes.” 92 pts., Neal Martin, robertparker.com

2019 Michele Chiarlo, Barolo, Cerequio 6x75cl

From the Cerequio vineyard situated between the municipal districts of La Morra and Barolo, and on that is considered one the most prestigious crus of Barolo. Wonderful complexity on the nose with notes of mature fruits, mint, eucalyptus, gentian and fine spices that lead to a richly structured palate with fine, tightly woven tannins.

"Fragrant purple flower, dark-skinned berry, chopped mint and pipe tobacco are just some of the aromas you'll find on this captivating red. The delicious palate combines structure, finesse and... earthiness, delivering juicy Marasca cherry, black raspberry, licorice and truffle framed in taut, fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it youthfully focused and well balanced." Drink 2024-2036. 96 points, Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast

2019 Paul Jaboulet Aine, Hermitage, La Maison Bleue 6x75cl

"A superb Maison Bleue, the 2019 Hermitage La Maison Bleue seamlessly blends cherries and cassis into a purple mashup of fruit carried on rich, velvety waves of texture. Full-bodied and intense, it... finishes complex and savory, adding notes of olive, clove and cedar on the long, luxurious finish. Already approachable, it should drink well through 2040." 95 pts., Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com

2017 Bollinger, PN TX17, Champagne 6x75cl

WP94
“The wine is almost completely dominated by the extremely exciting and rare Tauxières Premier Cru, which is one of two villages classified 99% on the Grand Cru scale. Despite an impressive... vineyard area of 237 hectares, it is extremely rare to come across champagnes dominated by this fantastic Cru. A cooler microclimate and a thinner soil layer with even more compact chalk than sunny Bouzy make the wines from here lighter and more elegant than Bouzy but stronger than Verzenay which is also part of this exciting Blanc de Noirs with predominantly base from 2017. Here is also a small splash of Avenay to give a little buttery roundness to the cuvée with its low dosage of 4 grams. The reserve wines that always come from magnum bottles under low pressure make up 48% from three vintages in 2016, 2009 and 2006. In total, half of the wine is made in oak barrels and the other half in steel tanks. The result is very beautiful and personal. The scent has features of lead pencil, juniper and freshly lacquered boat together with more classic coffee notes, rose petals, apricot and peach. The taste is vivid and multifaceted with a lively precision, lighter fruit aromas than you normally find in Bollinger's wines. Even cassis is one of the more unexpected aromas in this finely tuned complex symphony. Very impressive and exciting champagne that really makes me want to taste more and that I will look out for to my private cellar.” 92-94 pts Richard Juhlin

"Treiso. Tasted blind. Mid to deep ruby with orange tinges. Concentrated, complex nose with hints of cardamom and nutmeg. Elegant, lively fruit followed by bags of coating, bitter-sweet tannins that... are still a little tough and with marked acidity on the finish, but this has the bones for ageing." 17.5pts., Walter Speller, jancisrobinson.com, 14/5/2019

2018 Catena Zapata, Nicolas Catena Zapata, Mendoza 6x75cl

JR17RP96
“... The results are breath-taking. Purple in the glass with garnet flecks, this wine delivers layers of aroma, beginning with black currant and moving on to intense, precise notes of lavender and... mint along with hints of black tea, sage and cigar box. In the mouth, austerity vies for supremacy with sheer power, a balance overseen by polished, grippy tannins placed into relief by a well-judged freshness that keeps the whole package light on its feet. This is a wine of tension foregrounded by the blend: the Malbec smooths out the Cabernet Sauvignon, which in turn brings energy to a red with an extremely long finish.” 96 points, Joaquín Hidalgo, www.vinous.com
