"Harvested at ripe 15% potential alcohol, the golden-yellow 2015 Pinot Gris Rangen de Thann Clos Saint Urbain shows the purity and flintiness of its terroir combined with an unreal freshness for the... 2015 vintage. On the palate this wine is exploding with tension. It is lush and vibrant, round and structure." 94-95 pts., Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com

£125 / Case£20.83 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: Immediate2012 Pierre Moncuit, Millesime Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Cru 6x75cl
Powerful and textured, the 2012 Blanc de Blancs from Moncuit follows in the footsteps of the superb 2008 vintage. Opulent on the nose with gorgeous lemon curd on toasted brioche with notes of ... hazelnut, a motif that follows through on the palate. An impressively rich and seductive Blanc de Blancs, and yet there is a gorgeous, minerally spine of acidity. Long and with a glorious future ahead for the next ten years or so.

£619.98 / Case£103.33 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: Immediate2021 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru 6x75cl
Expressive, dark, spicy fruit that is silky in texture and nuanced with wisps of aniseed and clove. Remarkable length and precision with a subtle, underlying power. Another great and Grand Cru achievement by Livera. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)
£1,355 / Case£225.83 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: En Primeur2020 Philippe Livera (Tilleuls), Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru 6x75cl

A new find for Mr.Wheeler in the 2019 vintage and one we are pleased to follow since then; Domaine Livera is widely considered the “next Burgundian... star” tellingly both by consumers of their exceptional wines together with their winemaking contemporaries. The Livera family have been settled on the Domaine for almost 100 years, but Damien, who has been in charge for 13 years now, has taken the wines to a different level altogether. His style is one of purity, precision of fruit and impressive depth, quite reminiscent of the wines produced by Arnaud Mortet (who is a close friend and advisor). This is an up-and-coming address and very much one to watch.
Such a complete wine the Domaine Livera Chapelle-Chambertin. Mind-blowingly powerful yet ever so precise, seamless harmony even at this early stage, and a finish that unfurls layer upon layer of flavour: notes of violets and raspberry, followed by cherry then more savoury hints of winter spice and an almost umami finish. Impossibly delicious.
Duty Status: In BondAvailability: Immediate2019 Samuel Billaud, Chablis Grand Cru, Bougros 6x75cl
DE92
"Samuel Billaud produces his Chablis from a blend of three different parcels. Quite restrained, concentrated and flinty on the palate, there is lovely purity of fruit here. A classic example of village Chablis which will age well.", 92, Andy Howard MW, decanter.com
£330 / Case£55 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: Immediate2021 Domaine William Fevre, Chablis Grand Cru, Les Clos 3x75cl
VM93-95
"The 2021 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru comes from 4.1 hectares mainly located on the upper sector of the Grand Cru, the vines planted in the postwar period by Maurice Fevre, the father of William... Fevre. It has a powerful bouquet with hints of white flower permeating the citrus fruit and apple blossom aromas. The palate has wonderful salinity on the entry, a fine bead of acidity, citrus-fresh with clementine, hints of peach and a twist of bitter lemon that keeps the finish on its tippy-toes. Great potential. " 93-95 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com
£325 / Case£108.33 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: En Primeur2021 Domaine William Fevre, Chablis Grand Cru, Bougros Cote Bouguerots 3x75cl
VM93-95
"The 2021 Chablis Bougros Cote Bouguerots Grand Cru, which was cropped at just 17bl/ha this year, has an intriguing bouquet with hints of peach skin and honeysuckle, the precocity of this parcel... seeping through as it opens up. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh, quite linear with hints of orange pith and even a dab of ginger towards the spicy, energetic finish. Excellent. " 93-95 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com
£285 / Case£95 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: En Primeur2021 Domaine William Fevre, Chablis Grand Cru, Preuses 3x75cl
VM94-96
"The 2021 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru comes from 2.5-hectares split over two parcels. This has one of my favourite aromatics from Fevre this year with superb delineation and mineralite. The palate... is harmonious and poised, very focused and tensile, plenty of energy with a touch of lime and clementine towards the persistent finish. This is an outstanding Chablis that should age supremely well in bottle." 94-96 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com

VM91-93
"The 2021 Chablis Bougros Grand Cru comes from southwest facing parcels (Fevre almost half the holdings in this Grand Cru) has a very marine-influenced bouquet with touches of granite and a light... smoky note. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, nicely focused with a touch of quince complementing the citrus fruit, though I am just seeking a little more mineralito to come through on the final third. " 91-93 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com
£200 / Case£66.67 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: En Primeur2021 Samuel Billaud, Chablis Grand Cru, Blanchot 6x75cl
From the eastern end of the grands crus vineyards and adjacent to Les Clos. Here, Blanchots shows elegant, honeyed fruit, a whisper of oak and seriously impressive length. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)
£585 / Case£97.50 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: En Primeur2021 Domaine Michel Magnien, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 6x75cl
"Deeply aromatic, intense, layers of strawberry and cherry fruit, fine tannins in a wine brimming with class and the potential for this class to only heighten with age. An exceptional wine from an exceptional Grand Cru. Outstanding." (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

Domaine Long-Depaquit can be traced back to 1791 when Jean Depaquit and his brother Simon moved to Chablis. They purchased vineyards and developed... their domaine into one of the most renowned producers of Chablis today. Now owned by Albert Bichot in Beaune, Domaine Long-Depaquit offers an impressive range of Premier and Grand Crus. A sustainable approach, limited yields and skilful winemaking creates incredibly invigorating and mineral-edged wines. ‘La Moutonne’, a monopole in the heart of the Grand Cru vineyards, between Vaudésir and Les Preuses is one of their most celebrated cuvées, known for its incredible precision, elegance and staying power. Whichever cuvée you choose, these are delicious, mineral rich Chardonnays of the highest order.
Opening the proceedings at a Bichot tasting in London, the 2020 La Moutonne quite simply blew us away. Crushed oyster shell and citrus on the nose, followed on the palate by a superb energy with an exquisite texture. Laser-like, yet with excellent weight and power on the long finish, this is very, very special.

"The 2021 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru, which sees seven months in oak and another seven months in stainless steel, has a pretty, peppermint-tinged bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is... well balanced with a fine thread of acidity, taut and linear, quite precise on the finish with a hint of chamomile lingering on the aftertaste. This is a commendable showing, and it should drink well over the next decade. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis." 92 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com
£315 / Case£52.50 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: En Primeur2021 Domaine des Malandes, Chablis Grand Cru, Vaudesir 6x75cl
From this cooler site, the 2021 vintage shows its true precision and concentration. White stone fruit, pear drops, brisk acidity and a touch of lime zest on the finish. Though approachable now, such structure as it has will truly delight in two years' time. (Mr.Wheeler tasting note)

JM91-95
"From 3 plots, two in Monts Luisants and one in Fremières. Richer purple, consistent with the touch of oxidation showing in this sample. Tougher stuff on the palate, definitely serge rather than silk, tannins integrate well though and this should come through. There is a dense aftertaste for certain." 91-95 pts., Jasper Morris MW
£950 / Case£158.33 / BottleDuty Status: In BondAvailability: Future Arrival2019 Domaine Fernand Lecheneaut, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 6x75cl

"From a tiny parcel of old vines in Monts Luisants, the 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru opens in the glass with aromas of sweet berries, raw cocoa, cassis, orange rind, spices and petals.... Full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's serious and tightly wound, with lively acids and considerable reserves of fine, chalky tannins. Long and mineral, this will be well worth seeking out." 93-95 pts., William Kelley, robertparker.com
