2019 Domaine Gerard Thomas, Saint-Aubin Premier Cru, Les Murgers des Dents de Chien 12x75cl
JR16.5
"A little more smokily reductive than the Champ Tirant but still toasty on the palate. Rich, sweetly oaky but still fresh. A very definite style and still very well balanced by the freshness. Somehow a bit obvious but well done in that style. Comforting. " 16.5 pts., Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com

JM91-95
"From 3 plots, two in Monts Luisants and one in Fremières. Richer purple, consistent with the touch of oxidation showing in this sample. Tougher stuff on the palate, definitely serge rather than silk, tannins integrate well though and this should come through. There is a dense aftertaste for certain." 91-95 pts., Jasper Morris MW

"For certain, it has a highly-aromatic bouquet that is beguiling in purity, enticing aromas of honeysuckle and saffron, soon joined by camomile, white flowers and orange blossom. It has wonderful... delineation and gains intensity with aeration. The palate is supremely well-balanced with fine bead of acidity. Very harmonious and armed with just the right amount of viscosity, this Yquem is surprisingly understated at first but gains presence, offering irresistible flavours of layers of honey, lemongrass, lemon thyme and orange pith. Yquem is so tempting in its youth, but I feel that this vintage will repay those with the nous to cellar for at least a decade." 98 pts., Neal Martin, vinous.com

"The NV Classic Cuvée is a blend of 50-60% Chardonnay, 30-40% Pinot Noir and 10-20% Pinot Meunier. This particular Cuvée is based on the 2013 vintage, augmented by contributions from 2010 and 2011,... also 20% of the 2009 vintage. It spent three years on the lees. It has a generous bouquet with red apple, fresh pear and a touch of Mirabelle. I appreciate the vigor and intensity here. The palate displays fine delineation with hints of strawberry and cherry, nicely weighted in the mouth with a brisk and tensile finish. The Classic Cuvée has long given pleasure and it continues to do so." Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"...a deep cherry colour with garnet highlights. It boasts a bouquet of small red and black fruits (blackcurrant, cherry, raspberry) and flowers (violet). The body is ample and discreetly tannic and... the fruit remains present. Frequently one will find an elegant hint of Morello cherry. Roundness, volume, power and balance are all here, and in just the right proportions." Domaine Tasting Note

VM95
"The 2019 Coutet has a very intense bouquet of wild honey, saffron, dried pineapple chunks and a touch of cold, wet stones, all imbued with palpable joie-de-vivre. The taut, fresh palate is... underpinned by a silver bead of acidity (always one of this Barsac's leitmotifs), offering clementine, peach and nectarine toward the persistent finish. A joy." 95 pts., Neal Martin, www.vinous.com

VM95
"One of the most distinctive wines in Pomerol, the 2019 Feytit-Clinet emerges from the glass with a heady concoction of gravel, smoke, licorice, incense, grilled herbs, sweet French oak and inky dark... fruit. Virile, imposing and massively constituted, the 2019 possesses tremendous depth as well as persistence. As always, Feytit-Clinet is an especially rich, dense Pomerol. I can't wait to see how it develops." 95 pts., Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com

VM92
"The 2019 Berliquet has a refined bouquet of lifted dried iris petal scents mingling with blackberry and wild strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins and fleshy red berry... fruit laced with tobacco and Chinese five-spice, and very well proportioned and detailed on the finish. Sophisticated. Tasted twice." 91 pts., Neal Martin, www.vinous.com
